Edge began with a straightforward conviction — that you can’t build something well without understanding the programme it sits within and the people responsible for delivering it. That conviction became a discipline, and the discipline became the culture that shapes everything we do. Today we operate one of Melbourne’s most capable commercial joinery facilities, where German precision machinery and skilled hand-finishing work in concert to produce outcomes that reward the most exacting scrutiny. The standard is consistent across every contract size. DIRECTOR’S WELCOME
I came to joinery sideways, after years spent working in, and then starting and running a successful project management consultancy in the Middle East, where programme was everything and precision was the only currency that counted. But I’ve always been drawn to how things fit together. The visceral physical reality of a drawer that opens without a sound, of a panel sitting so flush against the wall you have to look twice to find the seam. What can I say, it’s the design-nerd in me. When I found Edge, I recognised it immediately. Three decades of craft thinking built into every process, held together by a team who argue about details most people would never notice and care about tolerances that will never show up in a brief.
